Meet Our Team

Ahmed Ashraf (Ash)
DIRECTOR
Ash brings over 20 years of experience in horticulture to Ploterra. His Master of Urban Horticulture from the University of Melbourne provided the foundation for his early involvement in The Woody Meadow project, which explores the potential of Australian native species in urban greenery. During his five years as a horticultural technician at The Australian Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Ash deepened his expertise in Australian native plants. He has also worked across various green spaces in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne, including bushlands, parks, and gardens, developing a strong understanding of irrigation, soil cultivation, and plant health, which has earned him the respect of industry suppliers and colleagues.
As the director of Ploterra, Ash oversees the entire landscape installation process. Ash is a registered structural landscaping builder qualified to design and construct features such as decking, pergolas, and other structural elements. By combining his horticultural expertise with construction skills, Ash leads the team in creating high-quality hardscapes and softscapes.
Outside of work, Ash is passionate about Pilates and maintains a regular exercise routine, bringing a focused and positive mindset to his work and team.
