Meet Our Team

Ploterra Landscape Design and Construction - Yanjun

Ahmed Ashraf (Ash)

DIRECTOR

Ash brings over 20 years of experience in horticulture to Ploterra. His Master of Urban Horticulture from the University of Melbourne provided the foundation for his early involvement in The Woody Meadow project, which explores the potential of Australian native species in urban greenery. During his five years as a horticultural technician at The Australian Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Ash deepened his expertise in Australian native plants. He has also worked across various green spaces in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne, including bushlands, parks, and gardens, developing a strong understanding of irrigation, soil cultivation, and plant health, which has earned him the respect of industry suppliers and colleagues.

As the director of Ploterra, Ash oversees the entire landscape installation process. Ash is a registered structural landscaping builder qualified to design and construct features such as decking, pergolas, and other structural elements. By combining his horticultural expertise with construction skills, Ash leads the team in creating high-quality hardscapes and softscapes.

Outside of work, Ash is passionate about Pilates and maintains a regular exercise routine, bringing a focused and positive mindset to his work and team.

Ploterra Landscape Design and Construction - Sally

Sally Yang

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Sally is an experienced landscape architect with a degree in Landscape Architecture & Urban Planning from RMIT University. Her passion for horticulture led her to further studies at the University of Melbourne, where she earned a Master of Urban Horticulture and a Graduate Certificate of Arboriculture. Throughout her career, Sally has worked alongside diverse professionals, exploring various areas of horticulture and landscape design, which has shaped her multi-disciplinary approach to landscape projects.

As the principal designer at Ploterra, Sally has developed a strong design and consultation team, focused on creating tailored visions for each project with a high standard of presentation. The design team, under her guidance, has crafted a variety of landscape styles, integrating influences from Japanese landscape aesthetics and Mediterranean charm to the natural beauty of Australian native themes. Alongside Ash, Sally ensures a smooth transition from concept to completion, bringing each design to life on the ground.

She is a passionate gardener who enjoys experimenting with new plant species in her garden. She is also an active contributor to multiple Chinese-language horticultural forums and frequently speaks on horticulture topics for SBS Mandarin’s horticultural program.
